The Myth of Judeo-Globalism
Blame Catholics Instead

A specter is haunting the West—the specter of globalism. All the powers of the right have entered into a holy (?) alliance to exorcise this specter: Christian nationalists and Bronze Age Perverts, tech bros and tradwives, post-liberals and chuds. But does this specter have any substance, or is it a mere euphemism for a more traditional scapegoat? Put bluntly, is “globalists” just a code word for Jews? That’s the conclusion of professional fascism-spotter John Ganz, for whom “references to cosmopolitanism and ‘globalist elites’” mask “a national socialism lite: instead of Jews, there would be ‘Jews’ sotto voce.” Now clearly, when Ann Coulter tweeted that CNN’s Jake Tapper is “half Globalist,” she had his patrilineal Jewish ancestry in mind.1 But what about the Trump administration’s 2025 National Security Strategy, which mentions “elites” who “badly miscalculated America’s willingness to shoulder forever global burdens” and “placed hugely misguided and destructive bets on globalism and so-called ‘free trade’”? Has the National Security Council really just written the sequel to the Protocols of the Elders of Zion?
To answer these questions, we must first understand what “globalism” means. Unfortunately, there is no Globalist Manifesto to tell us in plain terms. “Globalist” is a pejorative, not a label that “the elites” (also usually a pejorative) apply to themselves. But surely it’s a fair descriptor of Gus O’Donnell, former head of the British Civil Service, who told David Goodhart that “When I was at the Treasury, I argued for the most open door possible to immigration. . . . I think it’s my job to maximize global welfare, not national welfare.” And while he never used the term “globalist,” Jean-Jacques Rousseau must’ve had the O’Donnells of the world in mind when he wrote: “Distrust those cosmopolitans who go to great length in their books to discover duties they do not deign to fulfill around them. A philosopher loves the Tartars so as to be spared having to love his neighbors.” Today’s globalists want to make the Tartars their neighbors instead, but the underlying psychology remains the same.
Needless to say, O’Donnell isn’t Jewish. Nor was Rousseau, writing in 1762, using “cosmopolitans” to refer to Jews, who were then excluded from French public life. Rather, many Enlightenment thinkers criticized Jews for not being cosmopolitan. In Voltaire’s words, “They kept all their customs, which are exactly the opposite of all proper social customs; and were therefore rightly treated as a people opposed to all others.” Thus it’s useful to distinguish between globalism and Judeo-Globalism. Globalism is the privileging of the far over the near, strangers over neighbors, the world over the nation. It’s a recognizable mindset, if not as coherent an ideology as its critics suggest. By contrast, Judeo-Globalism is a conspiracy theory. It holds that Jews are collectively responsible for globalism’s boogeymen, including mass migration, international finance, and multiculturalism. For conspiracy theorists, globalism is not so much a viewpoint as a plot to further Jewish (or Zionist) interests. Thus, while goyim like O’Donnell may idealistically believe in globalism, Jews like George Soros are playing a double game: gay race communism for thee but not for me. The short-hand formula for this supposed Jewish hypocrisy is “Open borders except for Israel.”
Trotsky, Soros, and Christ
I’m using the term “Judeo-Globalism” to mirror “Judeo-Bolshevism,” the 20th-century, Nazi-endorsed myth that communism was really a Jewish plot. Structurally, the two conspiracy theories are identical. They both posit that Jewish universalists are motivated by Jewish ethnocentrism, whereas Gentile universalists are naive dupes of the Jews. Of course, there were Jewish communists, just as there are Jewish globalists in the sense defined above. The conspiracy theory is that communism, or globalism, is intrinsically, secretly Jewish. After the Bolsheviks seized power, Jewish-born Leon Trotsky dismissed a delegation pleading the case of Russian Jews, telling them, “Go home to your Jews and tell them that I am not a Jew and I care nothing for the Jews and their fate.” But conspiracy theorists refused to take Trotsky at his word. Sure, maybe he was lying to prove his true Red colors. But what about the Soviet suppression of Judaism, murder of the Yiddish intelligentsia, opposition to Zionism, or, for that matter, pact with Hitler to partition Eastern Europe?2 How anti-Jewish does communism have to be before it stops being “Jewish”?
In 1917, Marxist revolutionary Rosa Luxemburg beautifully distilled the prevailing feeling among actual Jewish globalists: “What do you want with this theme of the ‘special suffering of the Jews’? I am just as much concerned with the poor victims on the rubber plantations of Putumayo, the Blacks in Africa. . . . They resound within me so strongly that I have no special place in my heart for the ghetto. I feel at home in the entire world, wherever there are clouds and birds and human tears.” Replace any other “poor victims” with “Palestinians” and “the ghetto” with “Israel,” and the sentiment is the same for today’s Jewish anti-Zionists. In other words, they believe in gay race communism all the way down. Was Soros pushing a Jewish agenda when he bankrolled anti-Israel encampments during the war in Gaza? Was Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu being antisemitic when he accused Soros of funding protests against Israel’s deportation of African migrants?3 Or are there both globalists and nationalists, leftists and rightists among the Jews, as with any other people?
Underlying both Judeo-Bolshevism and Judeo-Globalism is the slander articulated by Voltaire: that Jews are “a people opposed to all others.” Therefore, if Jews act like they care about the rest of humanity, then they must be lying. According to one version of this theory, cosmopolitan Jews are even lying to themselves, since they’re driven by a subconscious “group evolutionary strategy.” Despite such pseudo-scientific trappings, we can ultimately trace this line of thinking back to Christian anti-Judaism, which equates hypocrite with Pharisee and Pharisee with Jew. But ironically, the presumption that Jews are malicious liars also undermines the very foundation of Christianity. Were biblical prophets like Isaiah—for whom God’s “house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples”—also ethnocentric hypocrites? What about Jesus and the Apostles, all of whom were Jewish?4 If you can accept that Jesus was sincere in his universalist beliefs, why not Trotsky or Soros? Christianity, Bolshevism, and globalism may or may not be correct, but their validity isn’t contingent on their adherents’ ethnicity.
Papists Will Not Replace Us!
One major flaw with the Judeo-Globalist theory is globalism’s very nature. It’s global (or at least pan-Western). Blaming Jews for mass migration may have surface plausibility in the US, with its influential, relatively large (2.4% of the American population) Jewish minority. But what about Sweden, which is 0.1% Jewish? Are Sweden’s ~20,000 Jews really responsible for the foreign-born share of its population rising to over 20%?5 Furthermore, to what end? Because of Muslim antisemitism, the Jewish population of Malmö has declined by over 90%. How can Jews both be super-geniuses secretly seeking to replace white people, and morons intentionally importing migrants who hate Jews? We could apply the same logic to Judeo-Bolshevism. Sure, it’s plausible on the surface to blame the 1917 October Revolution on Russia’s disaffected (for good reason), relatively large (~5% of the Russian Empire’s population) Jewish minority. But were Jews responsible for Mao seizing control of China, which is roughly 0% Jewish? And if the Soviet Union was such a Jewish paradise, why did its Jews mass emigrate as soon as they could?
If globalism was intrinsically Jewish, we’d also expect Jews with the strongest Jewish identity to be the most ardently globalist. Instead, Orthodox Jews overwhelmingly voted for Trump—who promised to seal the border—in the 2024 American presidential election. We also haven’t heard any pro-immigration rallying cries from Hasidic rebbes. By contrast, US Catholic bishops have expressed collective solidarity with immigrants targeted by Trump’s deportation campaign. Recent popes—including the current American-born Pope Leo and his predecessor, Pope Francis—have also been outspoken in defense of migrants. Judaism does endorse empathy toward foreigners (“You shall not oppress a stranger, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt”). But it rejects the radical universalism of Saint Paul, which relativizes national, socioeconomic, and gender boundaries (“There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus”). Insofar as globalism can be tied to a religion, its closest analog is transnational Christianity. Moreover, in terms of material interest, mass migration by Latinos to the US increases the demographic heft of Catholics, not Jews.6 Yet curiously, “Papists will not replace us!” hasn’t caught on as a slogan.
Believers in Judeo-Globalism will point to various Jews with politics they oppose. But naming people (((or adding triple parentheses to their names))) isn’t an argument. For one thing, there are always counterexamples. Surely Stephen Miller, architect of Trump’s deportation policies, cancels out Soros? For another, “noticing” relies on selective essentialism. In addition to popes and bishops speaking out for migrants, many of the Western politicians most responsible for increased immigration have been Catholic. Examples include Prime Minister [[[Pierre Trudeau]]], who institutionalized Canadian multiculturalism in 1971; his son Prime Minister [[[Justin Trudeau]]], who dramatically expanded Canadian immigration levels; Senator [[[Ted Kennedy]]], champion of the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965, which opened the door to large-scale chain migration to the US; and President [[[Joe Biden]]], who presided over the largest influx of illegal immigrants in modern American history. Yet their policies are rarely attributed to their religion, even though they were all influenced, to varying degrees, by Catholic social teaching. Of course, there have also been prominent Catholics who opposed mass migration, which is precisely my point. Globalism isn’t bound to any one particular group. Rather, it makes disciples of all nations, even unto the uttermost part of the earth. In other words, it’s catholic.
Tapper’s mother converted to Judaism, so Coulter apparently believes that globalism is passed down through blood alone. Alternatively, like the Israeli rabbinate, she only accepts Orthodox conversions to globalism.
Oddly, the “Judeo-Bolshevist” Soviet Union didn’t seem to mind consigning millions of Polish Jews to subjugation and murder by the Nazis.
So much for globalists believing in open borders except for Israel.
The Nazi answer to this dilemma was to argue that Jesus was actually an Aryan and to excise the Old Testament.
If so, then it seems less the case that the Jews are evil masterminds, and more that the Swedes are cattle without agency or will.
If Jews were indeed responsible for Latino migration to the US, the strategic move would be to then encourage the mass conversion of Hispanic crypto-Jews.


The Jews are the people of the Book but also the people of the Golem.
While I have enormous distate for the Communist/Marxist Jews of the 20th century, who were always wrong but never in doubt and who blessed so many dictators and their massacres yet never pumped the brakes on their crusade, I also have married into a Jewish family and try to extend sympathy and charity to all Jews, as I've never walked a mile in the shoes of the world's most despised and hunted minority group.
That being said, I've tried to view all the ideological crusades of 20th century Jews (even, maybe even especially, the ones by people claiming to either be secular or universalist) as in some part survival strategies for their tribe, as attempts to get some breathing room and safety and acceptance for Jews.
It seems obvious to me that Marxist utopian principles were crafted with the underlying (if not unconscious) idea that erasing family, faith and nation would also erase Jews as a separate tribe and thus Jew hate along with it; and same goes for the Critical Theorists of Frankfurt—I find it hard to believe that these yeshiva geniuses and grandsons of famous rebbes weren't hoping to dismantle Western social and economic structures as a way to finally somehow stop the discrimination and abuse they all faced; and the same goes for maybe most of the politically engaged Jewish reformers of the 20th century, from Emanuel Celler to Howard Zinn to Erich Fromm and everyone in bw: if we show we're compassionate egalitarians and "tikkun olam" world-healing universalists and allies of all oppressed people, living and dead, on their journeys to justice and liberation—well maybe then, finally, a new world can be made where Jews either vanish or became irrelevant, ie. just another group, no better or worse.
But maybe we can see something from the distance of time that they either couldn't, wouldn't or didn't think of till too late—though maybe Adorno, encountering the children of 1968, came closest: "I established a theoretical model of thought. How could I have suspected that people would want to implement it with Molotov cocktails?" LOL How could you have NOT expected it?
All these systems, ideologies, fantasies etc predicated on tearing down the ugly old world seem to forget that some walls you tear down are load-bearing (oops) and some boxes you open are Pandora's—and out pops the Golem, who decides that if we are to become a single lump of undifferentiated liberated humanity, maybe the easiest, most fun, path is by killing off the most annoying and indigestible lump of humanity? If we're all supposed to be the SAME why does this small group have so much money and power? (And suddenly family, faith and nation don't seem so evil after all, as at least they provided ethical boundaries and some sense of conscience.) The pretty words of philosphers are often translated into brutal acts and gestures by people not as brilliant, and suddenly all the paths to Jewish liberation become clogged with Jew haters.
The People of the Golem are blessed and cursed, victims of their own brilliance. Jews will always be with us, baruch hashem, because their enemies need them even more than their allies do.

How anti-Jewish does communism have to be before Jews stop(ped) promoting it? Apparently, quite a bit. Jews were wildly disproportionately communist and defended communism within Western nations, including spying for Stalin. But, to their credit, they were/are also some of the greatest anti-communists too, e.g., Sidney Hook, who deeply impressed me.
